The Quick ‘n’ Dirty Boat Building Contest is a two-day fun-filled festival in and of itself. The teams bring a Mardi Gras feel to the festival by picking outrageous themes, naming their boats and costuming for the parade to the river. “Lords of the Tchefuncte”, and “Reigning Clowns” are two examples of names past crews have used. First, Second and Third place trophies are given as well as special trophies for “Best of Show”, “Shipshape Award” and “Subsurface Cruiser”.
